Frank (and Family) Hubman

Frank and Annie Hubman
Written by Canmore Museum

My father, Frank, was born in Hamborn, Germany, November 4, 1910 and came to Nova Scotia, then onto Canmore, in 1912. The family- Josie, Charles, Frank, Hieny, and Paul, were living in a company house in Prospect. On October 13, 1935, Frank married Annie Kaleta and they had two sons, Archie and Jerry.

Frank worked at the mines for forty-nine years. During that time, he was recording secretary for the U.M.W.A. for forty years. He coached minor hockey with Mike Riva and helped in the Seniors’ Drop-In Centre, along with Joe Miskow and Charles Hubman. After retiring, he spent a lot of time on the golf course in the summer, and curled in the winter, at the age of 80.
